Two walks in Carkeek

After a very mild, sunny winter through the end of January, the weather fell apart in February, turning cold and snowy. Four to six inches fell overnight, and without much else to do, dogs and people took two walks in Carkeek Park.

Around 10 am Saturday, starting the first walk under cloud cover...

 Paul and Kona, walking ahead...

Several trees were down across the path, and I doubt these trees are supposed to lean this much (walk quickly)...

The snow may be depressing in the garden, but it is certainly beautiful in the park. I will post photos of our second walk in Carkeek tomorrow.

  1. Ah, I've got such fond memories of time spent in that park with friends. Of course on summer days...

    1. I can't wait for the lush summer canopy to return; I saw a few green buds in the warmer parts of the park that were fooled by our warm January weather.

  2. Gorgeous walk in the park. The snow sure looked beautiful but, as you said, it was pretty depressing and damaging in the garden. Hope your losses were few!

    1. Thankfully the garden is looking more abused than dead. I installed a new 50-ft bamboo hedge last month, and in hindsight, I feel so incredibly lucky to have finished it before February - that would have been a nightmare!
